Types of Projects
Below are the types of projects I edit, with some examples of each. Please note that I do not accept academic journal publications or dissertations, legal writing (e.g., contracts, legal briefs), medical or health-related technical writing, highly technical or scientific documents, or erotica. Types of Edits
I offer three levels of editing—developmental editing, copy editing, and proofreading. Each service is outlined below to help you determine which best fits your needs. While these descriptions reflect what’s typically included, I tailor every project to the unique goals and requirements of each client.
Developmental editing addresses the big-picture elements of your work—structure, organization, flow, and cohesion. I’ll evaluate how well your ideas come together, providing practical suggestions and feedback. You’ll receive an editorial letter outlining key areas for improvement, along with in-text comments that offer clear guidance for revision.
Copy editing refines your writing at the sentence and paragraph level, focusing on clarity, tone, and consistency while preserving your unique style. I’ll correct grammar and punctuation issues, smooth transitions, and ensure your language is clear and engaging. The goal is to help your writing read effortlessly while remaining true to your voice and purpose.
Proofreading is the final step before publication or submission—a meticulous review to catch lingering typos, punctuation errors, or grammatical inconsistencies. This service ensures your work is polished, professional, and error-free, ready to make the best possible impression on your readers.
